The environment and transport committee of the Karlsfeld local council discussed a location concept for open-space photovoltaics at its most recent meeting. “Wind turbines are not an option for reasons of space,” as climate protection manager Franziska Reitzenstein emphasized again at the meeting of the Environment and Transport Committee on Wednesday evening.

There has so far been one inquiry on this topic inKarlsfeld. The owner of a property with an area of 1.8 hectares west of the S-Bahn between Lärchenweg and Waldschwaigweg, approximately at the level of the Glücksklee children's home, had applied to build an open- space photovolcanic system there. The building and works committee unanimously approved this at the end of October. But not everyone in Karlsfield agreed with this. Some interest groups expressed concerns about the construction project. As reported, the Federal Nature Conservation Association is also critical of the project.
