Four people, including three police officers, killed in an attack attributed to Shebab. IED explosion occurred at a hotel about 200 meters from a police station in Mandera.
Two police reservists were also killed last weekend in a raid in Lamu county, another border area with Somalia. Low-level attacks still take place regularly in Lamus, ManderA and Garissa counties. The Somali government has been leading an anti-Shebab offensive in central Somalia since August 2022.
