Temperatures in the Pyrenees are breaking records at altitude and snow is rare. Most ski areas are partly open in a fairly uneven manner.
The resorts are redoubling their efforts to welcome winter visitors in the best possible conditions. But the winter sports season is still long and there is still time to turn things around, says one resort director. The winter holiday season starts on February 10 and runs through to March 4, according to the French Ministry of the Interior. The French national holiday season runs from November 1 to March 31.
