Residents of Ukraine's second city can not only change their identity cards or renew their licenses, but also take up arms. “We need everyone, women and men: shooters, artillerymen, machine gunners, cooks, drivers, mechanics, administrative assistants, drone operators, engineers,” say two representatives of the territorial defense of Kharkiv.

The office of the “recruiting center’ – in English in the text – which opened on April 2 – is located in the city’s administrative services delivery center. The center is open to the public, but only until the end of the year. It is not clear if the center will be able to recruit people in time for the presidential election in February 2022. The election will be held on the same day as the 2014 presidential election, which was won by the incumbent, Viktor Yanukovych, by a narrow margin. The next presidential election will take place on May 25, 2014. The winner will be announced on May 26, 2014, and the winner will go on to the presidential elections on May 21, 2015.
