Banks in Spain and Italy should begin to "prepare" for the expansion of cryptocurrencies. Pablo Lacruz, head of Bitpanda TechnologySolutions.

for Southern Europe, underlines the need for the banking sector to prepare in time. "Italian and Spanish banks are working on the custody of crypto assets but are a little afraid to develop a service for the end customer", he says. "There is a need for legislation", he underlines, for a sector where in 5 years there will be a consolidation with many subjects that will disappear. "We want to work with banks by offering them technology without competing with them in the payments sector", he adds.  Bitpanda will continue in its choice to "democratize access to savings especially for those with low income through even minimal investments, from 5 to 10 euros, through a simple and safe service" in Italy, he says, adding that there are currently no plans to apply for a banking license in the country.
