Land consumption, in Italy 21 hectares per day - Energy & Energies. Land consumption from 2006 to 2022 increased in Italy by over 120,000 hectares.

In the last year, the net land consumption recorded in Italy was on average over 21 hectares a day, equal to 2.4 m2 per second. This was revealed in the 4th SNPA Environment Report, presented in Rome. The increase moves away from the objective of zeroing land consumption, envisaged by the Eighth Environmental Action Programme, showing a worrying reversal of trend.
