CGIL and UIL call to the streets of Rome on 20 April for the national demonstration on health and safety, right to healthcare and public healthcare, tax reform and wage protection. The concentration is at 9.30 am at the Circo Massimo in Piazzale Ugo La Malfa.

20 gazebos will be set up in the square, one for each region, with the critical issues of the different regional healthcare systems. In eleven years in Italy, 125 hospitals have been closed, 12% and, according to Gimbe data, 2 million citizens no longer seek treatment for economic reasons. "This year is the year of contract renewal. 12 million people have this issue and for us this season must lead to a real increase in wages, in the public and private sectors", says CGIL general secretary Maurizio Landini, at the presentation press conference. "We need to take to the street and mobilize to obtain those rights, starting from that of non-precarious work, health, social justice and education, which as far as we are concerned remain the strategic objectives"
