Former Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins targeted by investigation into his air travel. Mr Karins served as prime minister from 2019 to 2023, before resigning following a loss of popular support following the departure of Edgars Rinkevics.

The investigation was entrusted to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. “I rely on the investigation and the ability to review the decisions taken at the time by the State Chancellery,” the body responsible for the prime minister's travel plans, Mr. Karins said in a statement.
