Lower House Republicans hold key vote seeking to impeach Mayorkas. The National Security Committee debates the charges they want to use to impeachment the Secretary of Homeland Security, whom they accuse of having endangered the security of the country with the entry of undocumented immigrants.
The Homeland Security Committee plans to vote on two articles of impeachment against Mayorka. Democrats called the procedure a “farce” that could set a terrifying precedent for other officials. It would be the first impeachment of a federal official in almost 150 years.
