Aged 30, Sonia B. was sentenced in 2019 to seven years in prison by the Paris court for criminal conspiracy in connection with a terrorist enterprise. She left to join the Islamic State in Syria in March 2015 and October 2016, after having helped two other young women to go there. When she returned pregnant, she gave birth in prison.
