Lyon: drop in car traffic, environmentalists want to amplify the dynamic. Traffic has fallen sharply in the center of Lyon since 2019.
The metropolis, however, wants to accentuate the movement on two wheels by 2026. 1,576 road accidents were recorded in the territory in 2023, compared to 1,815 in 2022 and 2,186 in 2019. At the same time, 300 serious injuries were recorded, i.e. 15 fewer than in 2022, 49 fewer than 2021 and even 482 less than in 2017.
