Two municipal police officers were injured late Wednesday afternoon. They were called by the Part-Dieu municipal library which had just reported disturbances linked to an individual causing damage inside the building.

The two municipal agents from the local unit arrived on site at 6 p.m. to accompany the suspect out of the library in order to let the national police carry out their arrest. The man in question then appeared particularly insulting and violent and kicked the two officers several times during their intervention. He was finally arrested. One received three days of ITT and the other five days. They received the support of Mohamed Chihi, the deputy mayor of Lyon in charge of security, on X: “On behalf of the mayor, I give them our full support and wish them a rapid recovery. We demand exemplary sanctions” The two officers were transported to hospital from which they were released shortly after 11 p. m. The suspect was arrested and charged with damaging the municipal library and attacking the two police officers.
