This earthquake, which was also felt in Tokyo, occurred the day after a very violent earthquake near Taiwan which left nine dead and more than 1,000 injured on the island. The earthquake occurred Thursday off the coast of Fukushima department, in northeastern Japan, without triggering a tsunami warning. It was felt in the capital Tokyo and in parts of the city's suburbs. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.0.
