Crimes from the right-wing spectrum continue to dominate, but several hundred cases from the left were also registered. There is a brutalization of language when there are differences of opinion, which often results in violence, says Interior Minister Georg Maier. The number of politically motivated crimes has roughly doubled in the past ten years in Thuringia, according to police data. The figure for the year 2023 is not yet available.
