The author of The Satanic Verses dies at the age of 73. He was one of the leading figures in the Angry Young Men movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
He is survived by his wife, two children and a stepson. He leaves behind a wife and a son, and a daughter-in-law. He also leaves a son and a grandson, who are both in their late 20s and early 30s. The author is also survived by a daughter, who is also in her late 30s and a granddaughter.
