Men need to exercise more than women for their health. Men need to train around 5 hours per week For women, just under 2 1/2 hours is enough.

Regular strength training reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease in men by 11 percent and in women by 30 percent. Men often have larger lung capacity, a larger heart and more lean body mass and a higher proportion of muscle fibers. Women could use a higher breathing rate, metabolism and physical effort for the same movement and thereby greater health benefits.
