Mercedes wants to launch a Maybach Edition in the V-Class from 2028. It primarily targets wealthy customers in China.

Mercedes did not want to comment officially, but had already announced a luxury van in 2023. The basis of the Maybach V- class is the new electric platform “VAN.EA’, on which all large and medium-sized vans will be based from 2026. It is still unclear whether German consumers will be able to enjoy the luxurious V-class. In China, sales in the van division rose by 27 percent to 7,700 vans sold, and in the USA by 15 percent to 16,100 units. in Germany, however, sales remained relatively stable at 23,900 vehicles. only Toyota is represented with the Alphard and the Lexus LM.
