[HIGHLIGHTS] Metropolitan RER works: closed since 1949, a former station will reopen three minutes from Bordeaux

75 years after its closure, the Médoquine station will open its doors in 2025. It will serve the TER lines from Arcachon to Libourne and from Pessac to Verdon-sur-Mer.

Ultimately, the metropolitan RER will have 200 kilometers of lines, with 47 stations, including 17 in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Around 4,000 passengers per day are expected there by 2030. The station will be located 3 minutes by train from PESSac and the Bordesse-Saint-Jean station. The objective is now to create four platforms in order to use the two TER lines, which should open in September 2025. The future express bus line, currently under construction, will also be served by the future Talence-Médoquined station, which will be 3 minutes away from the current station. It is expected that the station will have a capacity of 3,000 people per day by the end of the decade.
