A head-on collision between a coach and a goods truck left 19 dead and 22 injured in a state in northwestern Mexico. The accident took place in Elota, a popular tourist destination for Canadian and American nationals.

The bus left the city of Guadalajara and had its final destination at Los Mochis in the state of Sinaloa, also known as one of the cradles of drug trafficking in Mexico. In August, the accident of a bus which was mainly transporting Venezuelan migrants caused the death of 16 people between Oaxaca and Puebla.
