Mexico: clash between criminal gangs leaves at least 12 dead. The clash took place in the village of Las Tunas, where five charred bodies were found Tuesday.
According to local media, the clash pitted the gangs of La Familia Michoacana and those of Los Tlacos, who are vying for control of the area. Mexican authorities have counted more than 420,000 murders and tens of thousands of disappearances in the country since the end of 2006, the start of a vast anti-drug offensive.
