In 40 cities and municipalities, face-to-face classes at schools have been cancelled, and the population is urged to stay at home and keep doors and windows closed. About 100 million people live within a radius of 25 kilometers around the volcano. The last major eruption occurred in 2013, the ashes reached four districts of Mexico City.
