Mexico will denounce the assault on its embassy in Ecuador before the International Court of Justice. It is due to the police assault on the diplomatic headquarters in Quito last Friday to arrest former Ecuadorian vice president Jorge Glas.

Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena said that the seizure was an outrage and violation of the immunity of the diplomatic compound and its staff. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) of the Mexican Government thanked the international community for its solidarity and pointed out that at least 18 Latin American countries and 10 European countries have expressed their support.
