Increased level of sophistication of operations (ANSA) China is stepping up its use of AI-generated content and fake social media accounts to deepen divisions in the United States and influence political elections elsewhere in the world.
According to the report, Chinese influence operations continue to "opportunistically jump" on events such as the Kentucky train derailment and fires in Maui to promote distrust in the US government. So far there is little evidence that influence operations have actually succeeded in influencing voters' opinions.
