Microsoft published better-than-expected results for the fourth quarter of 2023 on Tuesday. The turnover stood at 62 billion dollars for the period from October to December, up 18% year-on-year.

The group has been boosted by remote computing and the advance of artificial intelligence. The cloud is itself stimulated by the explosion of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and the rise of Microsoft's Bing search engine, which uses AI to search for patterns in data. The results were above the 61.1 billion projected by analysts.
