Milei manages to overcome the first parliamentary obstacle for its scrapping megalaw after withdrawing almost half of the articles. The House votes in favor of the project although legislators will debate the most controversial points in particular on Tuesday.

The regulations also need the approval of the Senate to become law. It is a bittersweet triumph for the Argentine president. Milei, in a minority in Congress, had to cut the 664 articles of the original project by almost half to obtain the necessary support.
