The Damned by Roberto Minervini was selected in the Un certain Regard competition at the Cannes Film Festival (14-25 May 2024). This was announced by the Festival's general delegate, Thierry Frémaux, at a press conference in Paris.
At the height of the Civil War, the United States Army sends a company of volunteers west with the task of scouting and garrisoning the unexplored lands. The mission overwhelms a handful of armed men, revealing to them the ultimate meaning of their journey towards the border. The Damned is an Okta Film production and Pulpa Film with Rai Cinema in co-production with Michigan Films and BeTV International distribution: Les Films du Losange. The film is produced by Paolo Benzi and Denise Ping Lee for Okta and Paolo Del Brocco for Rai Cinema, co-produced by Alice Lemaire and Sébastian Andres for Michigan Films. It stars Jeremiah Knupp, René W. Solomon, Cuyler Ballenger and Noah Carlson.
