Brian Dorsey was sentenced to death after being found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder. Some prison officials argued for his life to be spared.
On December 23, 2006, Dorsey took his cousin's shotgun and shot her and her husband at their Callaway County home. Sarah Bonnie and Ben Bonnie had driven him home for the night after he asked them for help, telling them that drug dealers had come to his door to demand he pay some debts. The couple's 4-year-old daughter was in the home but was not physically harmed.
