MoDem case: the prosecution appeals. The Paris criminal court had condemned the party in the case of European parliamentary assistants, but acquitted François Bayrou, president of the centrist party.
The first instance judges had found that there was no proof of Mr. Bayrou's involvement in the embezzlement of public funds proven according to them. The defendants, however, noted suspiciously: “It follows from the above that it is very probable that [three of the defendants] who committed acts of complicity”
