Sonmarg – pictures that take your breath away. The masses of snow are piling up sky-high in front of the small village of Sarbal near Sonmarg in the Himalayas. Then the avalanche rolls over the village. Suddenly everything is white. But the residents certainly held their breath for at least a short time as the snowstorm approached. Most recently in January, avalanches closed a ski resort and the army had to fly tourists out of the area.
