He became known throughout Germany as the "singing pizza baker" and made it to the final in the first season of the RTL show: Now Gino's voice has been silenced forever. This is reported by the Westfalen-Blatt. A death notice that can be found on nw.de states that BadagLIacca died on March 26th at the age of 84.
