Uruguay relocates 500 families from the most emblematic informal settlement in the Punta del Este resort. The government built a new neighborhood on a property located just over a kilometer from the current Kennedy, where almost 400 houses have already been built.

The complete operation—expropriation of the land, urbanization and construction of homes—reached 55 million dollars, of which 28 million correspond to a loan from the CAF-development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and 7 to the Bank of the Republic.
