Mystery about the age of the felled town square linden trees in Penzberg: counting rings doesn't help. The three trees on the town square were felled at the end of February because an expert did not believe they were safe from breakage.

Two of the three trees are listed as historical monuments because of their connection to thePenzberg Murder Night on April 28, 1945. The tree trunks have now been removed and are stored in the municipal Gut Hub.
