Witnesses reported a man robbing a person with a weapon in a parking lot in Villefontaine (Isère) The owner of the toy, a young man of 18, was taken into police custody for armed violence after spontaneously presenting himself to the police. The fake weapon found in the vehicle was indeed a water pistol.
Police custody was lifted and the proceedings were dismissed. The alert was given late Tuesday afternoon following a “report sufficiently worrying to deploy the police,” according to the Isère prefecture.
