Residents of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, on the outskirts of Nantes, have been railing against the installation of a biowaste processing platform for almost two years. They believe they are victims of an injustice, especially since they had been assured that the installation would not cause any nuisance.

Since the beginning of July, the odors should have disappeared, according to the orders of the prefecture, which had already pushed back this deadline by three months. “Since the beginning, it has been shaky and it was done in a hurry,” laments Philippe Albert, living in an adjacent housing estate.
