New survey: AfD is still in free fall – worst result since mid-2023. If there were a federal election next Sunday, the AfD would do significantly worse than before.
At the state level, however, the trend continues: it is even leading, particularly in the eastern German states of Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg. Some politicians in the traffic light coalition are even calling for a ban on AfD. Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser welcomes the recent demonstrations against right-wing extremism. The survey was conducted between February 12 and 16, 2024, with a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.
