The City of Nice issued a municipal ban for disturbing public order against a "literary lunch" organized by Tariq Ramadan on June 4. The Islamologist, acquitted on May 24 of the charge of rape and sexual coercion by a Geneva court, had announced on his Facebook account that he wanted to invite his followers to a lunch at the restaurant in the city of Alpes-Maritimes.

On the eve of the event, the lawyers of the Islamologist accused of rape filed an injunction against the decision of Mayor Christian Estrosi.
