Nice, Grenoble, Lyon… sand from the Sahara rises over the south-east of France, the sky turns orange. This dust and sand observed since Friday in the sky is due to the rise of a hot air mass coming from the Saha Desert.

Satellite images broadcast by the Keraunos storm and tornado observatory show quite clearly the trail of sand going back towards Europe. The Greek capital Athens was affected last Wednesday by a phenomenon which was then accompanied by particularly high temperatures.
