Labor Minister Hubertus Heil wants to set the pension level at at least 48 percent by the end of the 2030s. The German Economic Institute (IW) in Cologne expects that the plans in their current form will inevitably lead to higher contributions. There remain many open questions that the government has not clarified, according to the IW.
