Irish aviation fan and broadcaster Riyadh Khalaf tries to ease some of the worries of air travelers by explaining where certain noises on planes come from. He reached over 3.2 million people with his video, over 180,000 of whom left him a like.

Around 16 percent of Germans suffer from fear of flying, and another 22 percent feel at least uncomfortable in the air. If you feel unsafe about certain noises, always ask the flight attendants: “As a rule there is always a plausible explanation for it,” says Lars Frontini, who works as a pilot for a large German airline. “For example, if flowing air hits a dent in the fuselage, this can cause unusual noises. However, they pose no danger and only occur rarely,’ adds Frontini.“As an aircraft mechanic, I really appreciate what you do. I personally spend a lot of time educating friends and nervous flyers about similar things to help them feel better about flying.”
