A fire ignited around 17 p.m. Friday in the forest of Trois Pignons, near the town of Noisy-sur-École in Seine-et-Marne.

A local resident quickly alerted firefighters after spotting smoke above the trees. The wind, which was blowing at about 40 km/hour, probably favoured the start of fire. Last Sunday, another fire near Barbizon, the Mare-aux-Biches sector, had already charred 45,000 m² of forests.
