Nuclear waste in Bure: acquitted eight years after a fatal accident on the site. David Viarre, a 42-year-old technician, died there on January 26, 2016 following a landslide.
His employer, Eiffage, as well as the project manager of the site, Antea France, were prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter. In 2002, a worker was crushed by an aeration tube in the main access shaft, more than 200 meters deep, causing the site to stop for five months.
