Investigators suspect that the man has committed other crimes. Court found that the convicted person had a so-called particularly serious guilt. Early release from prison after 15 years is legally possible, but in practice it is virtually impossible. The case is reminiscent of that of patient murderer Niels Högel, whom the Oldenburg regional court sentenced in 2019 for 85 counts of murder.
