Odyssey of girls from the east by Elitza Gueorguieva: the Bulgarian new wave. Olivia Rosenthal's student delivers a fractured, heterogeneous, cubist novel, with strong, often grating burlesque.

In her first novel, The Cosmonauts Are Just Passing By, she recounted the end of communism in Bulgaria from the point of view of a 7-year-old child. Born in Sofia in 1982, she arrived in France in 2000: a brutal parachute drop on which her new novel, Odyssey of the Girls of the East, sheds a raw, scathing light.
