The Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters have put in place a reinforced security system for the quarter-final second leg of the Europa League on Thursday. The meeting was so sensitive that a travel ban on Portuguese supporters in Marseille was even on the table of the authorities.

Finally, on Thursday, supporters of Benfica Lisbon will be allowed to attend the match between the Portuguese club and OM at the Vélodrome, but with enhanced security. Drones will also be deployed to support the action of the 1,000 police officers and soldiers deployed from Operation Sentinel. In fact, others will be prohibited from parking, driving, and accessing the city center of Marseille and the surroundings of the stadium. Pyrotechnic devices are also prohibited near the Verodrome. The match will take place on Thursday night at 7.30pm. The second leg will be played at the Stade de Reims. The third and final leg takes place at the Parc des Princes.
