Last Friday, the dollar touched NIS 3.75, a four-and-a-half-year high. A jump to the 3.80 area is already around the corner.

The interest rate is expected to rise again to 5% as early as July. Israel is experiencing an "excess depreciation" of about 10% – a figure of the end of April. The governor said inflation as of now should have already been around 4% rather than 5% – the figure of April – and that more restraining monetary policy may be required.
