Emergency services were called on Wednesday when a collapse occurred at the Mount Clear gold mine, near the city of Ballarat (125 km west of Melbourne) The victim, aged 37, was “crushed by a collapse of rocks” and that his body “was pulled up” on Thursday morning. “Two people were caught in the landslide and 28 others were able to take shelter,” police said.
