The Ammerland Castle Chapel has been being renovated for a few years. The gem will be opened to the public on Sunday.

The church, built in 1683, like St. Veit in Staudach, belonged to Count Pocci for a while. After it fell into disrepair in the 1970s, the von Laßberg couple took on the task of restoring it together with members of the East Bank Protection Association (OSV) The work is almost complete, so the OSV has decided to make the gem accessible to thePublic on an open day on Sunday, April 14th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., when OSV representatives will be on site to answer questions.. What is still missing, says Petra Schulze, is the altarpiece and the bell. Both should be installed in the fall, then the Ammerlands Castle Chapel will be reopened with an official ceremony.. Discreet lamps were also installed inside and electric heating panels on the walls to combat the humidity.
