Pizza is now one of the most popular dishes in Germany. The Italian national dish began its triumphal march in the Federal Republic several decades ago in Bavarian town of Würzburg. In contrast to French haute cuisine, pizza is easy to perceive and understand. “You don't need a lot of previous knowledge,” says professor Gunther Hirschfelder.
