Satellite tracking data will be used to make a weekly map of the area through which these mammals move for navigators who move through the Strait of Gibraltar. The first interactions of several orca specimens (Orcinus orca) with boats were detected in July 2020.

So far this year, the Atlantic Orca organization has detected up to 53 interactions in the area: in 12 there has been damage to the boats and 31 have corresponded to sightings. The monitoring will allow to know the location of the specimens in the last hours.
