Greta Gerwig, director of "Barbie," was snubbed in Best Director category. Gerwig had been nominated in that category in her directorial debut, Lady Bird.
She is preparing to reimagine another very popular fantastic world, that of The Chronicles of Narnia. She recognizes that she grew up loving movies (she saw Titanic 8 times) and that her approach to Narnian comes from intuition. For now, another record that Gerwig has broken is having the three films she directed be nominated for Best Picture : Lady Bird, Little Women and Barbie.
